Sustainability

Caring about the environment

At OPC, we recognize the significant impact that the production of greeting cards and envelopes can have on the environment. As a responsible business, we are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint and promoting sustainability.

To that end, we have made a conscious decision to use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) accredited paper for all our greeting cards and envelopes. The FSC is an internationally recognized, non-profit organization that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests and provides a credible certification scheme for wood-based products. By using FSC accredited paper, we can ensure that our products can be traced back to responsibly managed forests.

In August 2007, OPC became one of the first UK publishers to switch all its greeting cardboard to FSC accredited stock. This commitment to sustainability was further strengthened by our decision to switch all our envelopes to FSC accredited paper.

OPC’s investment in sustainability initiatives demonstrates our dedication to environmental responsibility and our commitment to creating a positive impact in the world. We are proud to be a part of the larger movement towards sustainability and to support organizations such as the FSC.

As a responsible business, we believe that it is our obligation to minimize our impact on the environment and promote sustainability in everything we do. We are committed to continuing our efforts to set a positive example for the greeting card industry and to make a meaningful difference in the world.

About the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

The FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. It was founded in 1993 in response to public concern about deforestation and demand for a trustworthy wood-labelling scheme.

There are now national working groups in 28 countries including the UK. FSC UK is a registered charity supported by WWF, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and the Woodland Trust.

FSC Chain of Custody accreditation means the product can be traced all the way back to a well managed forest.
